Welcome
This website is the home of Hungarian cricket
Created in October 2006, it has so far helped coordinate numerous cricket matches in Hungary and for Hungarian teams abroad
Hungarian cricket is run by the Hungarian Cricket Association led by Gabor Torok - to find out more about the HCA and to read all the press releases go to the About HCA page
On this website you can find out how to play and how to coach cricket, you can read all the reports and see the scorecards from five highly successful seasons
Hungary is currently a prospective member of the International Cricket Council, but we are one of the most positive and active cricket countries in Europe - we have senior cricket, national teams, junior cricket and coaching for women

GB Oval update
Summary of the tasks completed so far by Chris Priest with help from the Baggy Blues, Kangaroos, Spartans and DCC volunteers.

Major tasks:
1. Raising the soil-level around the wicket-carpet (a 150cm-wide strip all around the carpet) - the hope is that cricket balls thrown in to the keeper will now NOT fly up dangerously off the lip of the wicket base. This required the strip in question to be prepared (broken up) then 150 wheelbarrow loads of soil and sand were brought in, then the new soil was raked in and seeded/compressed.
2. Rolling the pitch while it was at perfect dampness.

Minor tasks:
Storing the wicket covers, tidying and re-piling the compost heaps, temporary fix to a broken window in the old pavillion, raking/tidying under the willow tree, prep and sowing grass between new pavillion and the pitch.

There is still plenty more to do and all volunteers are welcome
Please send your interest to volunteer to christopher.priest@alvicom.hu
