Welcome
Hungary4cricket was founded in November 2006 to organise and spread cricket in Hungary
Six senior teams played friendly and Hungarian Cricket League matches in 2007 (scoring 6449 runs and taking 488 wickets!); 8 teams have played matches in 2008, including friendlies against touring teams and the second season of the HCL, which was won by the Royal Tigers - click on Senior
There is one junior team, Comenius Juniors, who now have nets installed at their school in Szekesfehervar, and national youth teams represent Hungary abroad - click on Junior
Our plans include organising indoor cricket and installing outdoor nets in Budapest, introducing cricket into schools and universities, hosting touring teams and playing international matches - click on About

HCA Awards Evening: Celebrations at Taj Mahal
The year's best performances were again rewarded and acknowledged with a fantastic evening at Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant, with individual and team prizes once again given out by the Ambassadors of Australia and India.

HCL: Second season comes to a close
After 27 league matches, semi-finals and the final, as well as 26 friendly matches (total = 56 matches!), Royal Tigers were crowned HCL champions. In the final they held off the admirable challenge of Baggy Blues to register a four-wicket victory. Without star bowler Mark Bownas, the underdogs were unable to stop Lucky Singh and Rajvir Singh putting on 51 for the sixth wicket to avoid an upset and keep the Tigers unbeaten record intact... card + photos

Coaching: Lots of students introduced to cricket
Three of Hungary's qualified coaches recently visited the Muszaki es Gazdasagtudomanyi University (Budapest University of Technology and Economics), one of the best and largest universities in Hungary, to promote the sport to hundreds of students. Management restructuring
In order to move Hungarian cricket forward and achieve its aims of ICC affiliation and greater participation in cricket in Hungary, the interim Hungarian Cricket Association Management Committee has taken the first steps in a management restructuring. As part of this restructuring nominations are now being sought for various management positions.

If you are interested in any of the positions, please email nominations@hungary4cricket.com for job descriptions and more info. Then you will be required to email a brief statement on why you are suited to the role. You may nominate yourself for up to two positions, giving your first and second preferences.  The deadline for nominations is 2pm on Monday 24th November 2008. Nominees will be posted on the About page of the hungary4cricket website and the interim HCA Management Committee will vote on them within two weeks of the above-mentioned deadline.
