Hungary Whites beat Cregagh A by 1 wicket |
Hungary Whites won the tournament
Although the format was strange (6-a-side in some matches, 8-a-side in others, and only 8 overs each) all the players took the day relatively seriously and tried their best, with the outstanding performances coming from the Hungary Whites team (Comenius players, plus Andrew Leckonby). They easily overcame a shell-shocked "senior" Hungary team, who just couldn't get any runs, and then they came from the dead to upset the Cregagh A team in the final. Meanwhile, the Hungary Reds again underperformed against Cregagh B to give them the wooden spoon.
Hungarian player of the tournament: Fanni Cziraky (as chosen by Cregagh CC)
