Kohinoor won by 7 wickets
It took Kohinoor only 49 balls to win this game although they were already 3 wickets down by that stage chasing a disappointing BB2
total of 38. Having won the toss the Baggies elected to bat and made a
defensive but solid enough start. Kohinoor opening bowlers Zahir and
Habib turned up the pressure, though, and by the 6th over the wickets
started to come. Zahir was unlucky not to claim any wickets but
congratulations to Habib, whose tricky outswingers accounted for 4 Baggies in the space of 16 balls, mostly playing rash shots.
Slow bowler Harran then lured two more batsmen into fatal strokes.
Getting caught out hitting into the deep became fashionable as the
Blues became frustrated at their own failure to amass runs. The only batsman to linger and offer much resistance was Hiran de Silva and his
8 runs off 38 balls goes to show how difficult it was to score against
Kohinoor on this slow wicket. Suleman claimed two late wickets to finish off an innings by the BB 2nds which they will want to forget.
Sensing an easy win, Kohinor then jiggled their batting order but the
first 3 batsmen fell cheaply, two of them to the pace of Abed and one
to a calamitous run-out. But 38 is no total to defend and, coming in
at 4th and 5th, it took Suleman and Dipu little over 3 overs to knock
off the remainder with two smart boundaries bringing the game to an
early conclusion.
